Terms of Service
By registering your interest on this website or using any Modiri service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
1. About Modiri
Modiri is operated by Modiri (Pty) Ltd (registration number to be confirmed), a company incorporated in South Africa. Modiri is a digital marketplace platform that connects homeowners with vetted, qualified artisans for home services, and provides artisans and service companies with tools to manage their business.
The Modiri platform is currently in pre-launch development. These terms govern your use of this website and the interest registration service.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website or submitting your information through the interest registration form, you confirm that you:
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Have read and understood these terms
- Agree to be bound by these terms and our Privacy Policy
3. The Interest Registration Service
This website currently offers an interest registration service — a waitlist through which you can express your interest in Modiri and be notified when the relevant application becomes available in your area. Registering does not:
- Create an account on the Modiri platform
- Guarantee access to the platform or any particular feature
- Constitute a contract for services
- Entitle you to any compensation if the platform is delayed or its features change
4. The Modiri Platform (Upon Launch)
Upon launch, the Modiri platform will operate as a marketplace. Key terms that will govern platform use include:
- Homeowners engage artisans through the platform. Payment is held in escrow via PayFast and released upon the homeowner's approval of completed work.
- Artisans and companies must complete Modiri's vetting process before their profiles go live. Vetting includes criminal background checks and qualification verification.
- Commission is charged to artisans and service companies on completed bookings. The commission structure will be published in the full platform terms prior to launch.
- Disputes are subject to Modiri's dispute resolution process, which is binding on both parties during the escrow period.
- Minimum booking value and other platform parameters will be confirmed in the full platform terms.
Full platform terms will be published before the platform goes live and will supersede this section.
